History: The Bengal breed originated as a human-made mix of the Asian leopard cat and the domestic cat. The leopard cat is from southern Asia. The Bengals spots are actually arranged, not just put on in a scattered pattern. The cats actually have kind of glittery glow to their fur. Some think that the Bengal is a wild cat, but many breeders will tell you that this is a very nice, good natured cat. They will tell you that it is playful and entergetic, not wild at all though. They are known to have a temperment problem, but if you actually get one that has been bred to be domestic there should be no problems.
