Ragdoll cats can weigh up to 30 pounds and shed a lot! These cats thrive on the attention from people more than other breeds. The ragdoll got his name from his “floppy and relaxed good nature” (vetstreet.com)  Ragdoll cats were first developed in Riverside, California, in the 1960s by a  breeder named Ann Baker,  she continued to develop the ragdoll breed by breeding cats and kittens that had the best personalities and appearances until she created kittens that inherited the ideal traits.  All ragdolls are born white and reach their full color maturity at about two  years old.
